white-couch

I just read a piece by the always-charming Mike Elgan at Computer World that pulls together recent science on how all the flashing lights on our gadgets hurt our health. The problem is apparently our failure to sleep in complete darkness — not the lights themselves. And two of the side effect of all these night lights are weight gain and depression. I’m persuaded. My gadgets are sleeping on the couch from now on. I already make my kids charge their cell phones in the kitchen so they can’t text all night. But this information adds another weapon on my side of that argument.
