Clean Tech Giveaway

It’s been an exciting few weeks over here in GeekGirlfriends land. You may have noticed that I completely redesigned this site. Hard work!

Also, my annual tech gift guide is out in print in Family Circle magazine and online at And that means that I’ve been cleaning up the mess – boxes, tangled cables, chargers – left over from reviewing a gazillion tech products.

I also launched a new blog at I’m super excited about that because I’ll be able to share some of the behind-the-scenes fun I have putting together stories like the tech gift guide and my Family Tech column. I also plan to share some of my strategies for controlling how much technology my kids consume (though that often feels like a losing battle) and some of the products I test but that never find their way into the pages of the magazine.

I also managed to — simultaneously – find a way to reach my son while he is playing Xbox and persuade him he doesn’t want an iPhone. And that was no small feat.

But it’s not all about me. I have a clean giveaway for you. If you saw my tech gift guide, you are probably hankering for a Toddy Cloth to keep your touch-screen phone, tablet, or reading glasses spiffy while showing off your outstanding personal style.

I have one for you!

Just tell me – in the comments – what high-tech gear you want for Christmas and I’ll enter you into the giveaway. I’ll do my best to get it to you in time for the holidays so you can wipe your new screen clean with it.

  1. I found the cloth the eye doctor gave me for my reading glasses and it helps but would like to see what the
    new cloth will do.

  2. In the crazy rush before the holiday, I pulled a winner at It was Alice! But I forgot to post about it! Sorry. And thanks for reminding me. Congrats Alice! Stay tuned for a great giveaway next week….as soon as I get time to post it.

  3. Christina, I am just LOVING the column in Family Circle. Although I don’t have a budget that allows for my technological desires, I enjoy hearing about all the apps you highlight every month and the tech guide you and your husband put together last month. You have my dream job! I completely agreed with you on the Sparkpeople website in the January issue – love it! Anyway, at the top of my wishlist is a laptop or notebook (haven’t decided which kind yet), but I would be thrilled with an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. I won’t be able to get any of those any time soon, but I love dreaming! Keep up the great work!

  4. Wowza! There are a lot of great things in your tech gift guide! The Mint robot vacuum, the Microsoft wireless mice, the Acer netbook, the Powerbag Messenger (amazing!) and the Kindle Fire would all be put to immediate use! Thanks for taking the time to sift through and find the best products to share. Very helpful!

  5. Happy Holidays! Would love a Kindle Fire this year and the cloth to clean it and my glasses with!

  6. I’ve purchased a Kindle Fire for my 7 year (which mommy will be using when he’s in bed) Do you know how messy 7 year olds can be…I could use a cloth for my regular Kindle too.
    Merry Christmas!

  7. Sounds like you’ve gotten a lot accomplished. Especially the part of convincing your son he doesn’t want an iPhone.

Personally, I would like an iPad 2 for Christmas. All those games just waiting to be played on Christmas day!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  8. My you HAVE been busy!

I think my tech gift for Christmas would be a Kindle or Kindle Fire. I’d love to be able to download my text books for class and lighten my backpack!

    Happy Holidays!

  9. Ohhhh…if any, I would also want the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. It looks almost perfect for my life.

  10. I would like an Ipad 2 or Booknook Tablet or KindleFire. They all sound great!

  11. I already have a ton of gadgets…like you! So I would ask Santa to give my brothers and sister each an ipad 2! They would LOVE it!!

  12. Wow! You have been busy!

Hmmm… so I have to pick just one gadget I want for Christmas? 😀 I would say the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime. I doubt I’ll get it, but I have plenty of other stuff that I could use this on.

  13. I want an ipad, but don’t tell my husband – or we will have one even though we can’t really afford it!
